Child found after alleged interference of child custody

When you go through a divorce or have children with a partner you're no longer seeing on a regular basis, child custody

arrangements are normally made to keep the children safe and accounted for. This case of child custody arrangements being broken caused police hours of time searching for an 11-year-old boy taken by his biological father.

Texas residents might have heard about the missing boy on the news, especially since he was allegedly located in Amarillo when he was found with his father. According to reports, the boy was fine and in good health when he was found. The boy is now in the care of Texas Child Protective Services while his mother arranges to bring him home.

According to the records, the boy went missing after his father came to see him, his brother, and his biological mother while they were camping. The 63-year-old man allegedly got into a verbal argument with the older of the two boys and then he and the 11-year-old boy got into a van and left. The mother called police when her son was not returned, and although this happened in August, reports are just now coming out because the custody arrangements between the two were difficult to determine by police. Now, the 63-year-old man has been charged with custodial interference, and a felony arrest warrant had been issued for him on Sept. 19. The man and his son were found in Amarillo, Texas on Oct. 26, and the child was unharmed.

News like this can be scary for parents who share custody, and if you're worried about your right to custody being taken from you or ignored, it's best to see what you can do to protect yourself and your child's best interests.
